Do you want to run your own website but don't know how to get started? Are you baffled by such terms as "HTML"? Are you worried that your design skills might not come up to scratch? Then what we can offer you might be right up your street!

What is the JemCon mini-website hosting service and who is it for?

This service is exclusive to JemCon members only, who actively contribute to our messageboard and community. We’ve developed this service especially for our members who would like a website of their own without having to go through the hassle of finding a suitable webhost, learning how to design or code a website or buying expensive software.

We’ve taken the pain out of the process – we provide the website template and you just fill it with your content. It’s as easy as typing a letter in Microsoft Word! We also provide a certain amount of web space so you can upload pictures, music and videos to display in your website.

Is there an example JemCon mini-website that I can see?

You're looking at it! This demo uses the "Roxy" template but there are another 5 to choose from.

Starter templates validate to XHTML 1.0 Transitional standards, as outlined by the WC3.

And if you don't want to keep a template in it's original state, no problem; they are easily customizible and the look can be changed to suit your own personal taste!

Aren't websites expensive? How much will it cost?

Websites can be expensive… but not to JemCon members. We’ll get to the cost in a moment but first please consider this;

• Doing it yourself, a website can cost a moderate sum of money in hosting fees, with a huge personal cost of time and effort in learning all the ins and outs of web design and coding.
• If you get a professional company to do it for you, it might cost thousands of dollars of somebody else’s expertise, with the added drag of ongoing maintenance fees.

We’re trying to give our members the best of both worlds at a very reasonably rate (3 packages, 3 prices). 100% of all purchases will help fund future JemCons and spread the word about Jem so in buying a JemCon mini-website hosting package you will be supporting the future of Jem and of JemCon!

The pages marked with an asterisk [ * ] in the menu include features which will be included in ALL JemCon mini-websites, except for the media player with auto-populating playlist (currently showcased in the "Videos" page), which is not available on the basic package. That's not to say that you can't include videos on any page in a basic mini-website package; you can embed the code provided by popular online video upload websites in absolutely any page, but the extra feature (and convenience) of having an auto-populating playlist, unfortunately wouldn't be available to you.

How long before my JemCon mini-website is up and running?

Now faster than ever, it should only take 1-2 days from receipt of payment to get your website live. Of course, such things as holidays and illness may affect this, but we’ll let you know of any such problems by email.
